About Us

I’m Catherine! An artist, maker, educator, and founder of Punch of Color.

I hold a BA in Drawing and Studio Art from Indiana University, and over the years I’ve built a diverse creative career, working as a graphic artist, scenic painter, wedding invitation designer, art teacher, and the list goes on. Teaching and creativity have always gone hand in hand for me, and I love helping others learn new skills and gain confidence in their own creative work.

The idea for Punch of Color was sparked in 2019 while planning a “penguin-themed” birthday party for my 6-year-old. As I searched for a creative, craft-based party favor, I realized there was a gap in the market, and Punch of Color was born.

Today, Punch of Color is a creative business specializing in paper-based handmade products, while also helping other makers and small business owners learn new creative skills. After discovering toner foiling and turning it into a successful product line in my own business, I began teaching others all about this process.

Through my courses, tutorials, and free resources, I teach everything from designing from scratch to creating professional-looking foiled projects, stickers, cards, prints, and more.
